The unveiling ceremony of the Key Laboratory of Edible Probiotics in Tianjin and the academic exchange conference have concluded successfully.
On the afternoon of April 19, the unveiling ceremony of the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Edible Probiotics (hereinafter referred to as the Key Laboratory) and the academic exchange meeting were successfully held at Tianjin Chuangyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
Chen Zheng, Deputy Director of the Tianjin Binhai New Area Science and Technology Bureau, Han Lin, Standing Committee Member of the Tianjin Binhai High-tech Zone Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee, Zhao Jing, Director of the Tianjin Binhai High-tech Zone Biomedical Bureau, and Dong Liping, First-level Staff of the Tianjin Binhai High-tech Zone Science and Technology Bureau attended the event. Zhou Jiaxi, Director of the Institute of Radiation Medicine, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Cui Ming, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department, Yu Chengcheng, Deputy Director of the Industry Department, Researcher Zhou Xiaoliang, and Management Cadre Chen Xue were invited to attend. Dr. Liang Wu, Director of the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Edible Probiotics and Chairman of Chuangyuan Biotechnology, Professor Lu Fuping, Director of the Academic Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Professor Zhang Min, Vice President of Tianjin Agricultural University, Professor Du Xinjun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the School of Food Science and Engineering at Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Professors Wang Haikuan and Zhang Huitu, and Teacher Zhong Feiliang from Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Professor Wu Zijian from Tianjin University of Commerce, and Professor Qiao Jianjun from Tianjin University (online) participated in the event. In his speech, Dr. Liang Wu, Director of the Key Laboratory and Chairman of Chuangyuan Biotechnology, first warmly welcomed the leaders and guests present at the event on behalf of all colleagues at Chuangyuan. He sincerely thanked the government and all members of the academic committee for their strong support and guidance during the development of the enterprise and the establishment of the Key Laboratory. He stated that the purpose of establishing the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Edible Probiotics is to respond to national strategic needs and the development needs of Tianjin's industry, to face the forefront of world science and technology, adhere to innovation-driven development, solve industry problems, and lead the high-quality development of China's micro-ecological preparations and postbiotics industry.
Dr. Liang Wu said that we should strive to make the laboratory work solid and effective, turning it into a strong subject of scientific research and innovation, a center for cooperation and exchange, a base for cultivating high-level scientific research talents, and a platform for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and large-scale commercial applications, contributing to the development of Tianjin's industry and national health.

Deputy Director Chen Zheng congratulated the Tianjin Binhai New Area Science and Technology Bureau on behalf of the bureau and stated in his speech that we should learn and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party, strengthen the national strategic scientific and technological strength, and that the Tianjin Key Laboratory should serve as a reserve force for national key laboratories, aiming to serve the well-being of the people. He emphasized the need to deeply understand General Secretary Xi Jinping's important requirements for innovation-driven development, keep in mind the major national issues, and adhere to the 'four orientations.' He also provided three aspects of construction guidance during the establishment of the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Edible Probiotics, encouraging Chuangyuan Biotechnology to leverage its corporate advantages, break through key core technologies, and gather talents to build the laboratory into a high-level, open, and dynamic R&D institution that aligns with international standards.

Han Lin stated that the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party proposed to promote the construction of a healthy China, placing the protection of people's health in a priority strategic position. It is rare for Chuangyuan Biotechnology to actively respond to the national call and seize strategic opportunities for rapid development. The Binhai High-tech Zone will continue to strengthen the cultivation of the biomedical and health industries, promoting the high-quality development of Tianjin's biological industry.
Lu Fuping, Director of the Academic Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and President of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, delivered a speech.
Lu Fuping stated that the joint establishment of the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Edible Probiotics by Tianjin University of Science and Technology and Tianjin Chuangyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. aims to jointly solve the pain points in the probiotic industry and deeply explore the efficacy of probiotic resources. In the future, both parties will also conduct more efficient and higher-quality in-depth research in talent cultivation and project cooperation. As a half-host, President Lu also provided many valuable suggestions on the efficient construction, sustainable development, strain library exploration, industry-university-research cooperation, achievement transformation, talent cultivation, and resource sharing of the enterprise and the Key Laboratory.

Han Xuemei, Manager of the Basic Research and Development Department of Chuangyuan Biotechnology's Research Center, reported on the construction plan of the Key Laboratory. The committee members present listened carefully to the report and unanimously agreed that the laboratory has gradually formed its corporate characteristics and advantages in constructing the innovation chain of postbiotics and micro-ecological preparations, which includes 'scientific research - technology development - achievement transformation - industry support.' During the discussion session, they further provided valuable opinions on the development of the Key Laboratory from aspects such as planning positioning, direction focus, platform setting, research layout, expansion of probiotic application directions, talent cultivation, and cooperation.

Dr. Liang Wu stated that through the exchanges and learning from this academic meeting, we have gained a deeper understanding of the planning of the Key Laboratory. In the future, we will deepen the construction around the following four points: First, deeply explore and properly position. We will be guided by national major goals and strategic needs, relying on major scientific and technological projects, responding to national needs, prioritizing urgent national issues, and undertaking strategic responsibilities, striving to build a first-class micro-ecological preparations and postbiotics industry innovation laboratory; Second, strengthen cooperation, share resources, complement each other's advantages, and shorten the R&D cycle; Third, improve mechanisms, closely focus on goals, and strive to create a talent highland; Fourth, strengthen open integration services and enhance domestic and international academic exchanges. We will take the construction of the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Edible Probiotics as an opportunity to further focus on the development of the edible probiotics industry and make greater contributions to promoting the healthy development of China's micro-ecological preparations and postbiotics industry.
